Hindustan Unilever Appoints Rajneet Kohli as Executive Director of Foods Business

Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) has made the appointment of Rajneet Kohli as the Executive Director of its Foods business, effective April 7, 2025. Kohli, who was earlier the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at Britannia Industries, has more than 28 years of experience working in the consumer goods and retail industries.

Extensive Industry Experience:

During his career, Kohli has served in leadership positions in major firms like Jubilant FoodWorks, The Coca-Cola Company, and Asian Paints. At Jubilant Food Works, he played a key role in increasing Domino’s Pizza’s presence in India, showcasing his ability to scale businesses and spur growth.

Educational Background:

Kohli graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Panjab University in 1996. He also did an MBA from the University of Wales and an executive development program from Columbia Business School in 2011 on CXO leadership.

HUL’s Foods and Refreshment Division:

HUL’s Foods and Refreshment business, including Kissan, Knorr, and Brooke Bond brands, brought in ₹15,292 crore, or 25% of the company’s turnover in the fiscal year 2023-24.

Leadership Transition:

Kohli will take over from Shiva Krishnamurthy, who is leaving HUL to seek external opportunities. HUL CEO and Managing Director Rohit Jawa had confidence that Kohli would take the Foods business into its next stage of growth and transformation.

Conclusion:

Rajneet Kohli’s joining is a tactical move by HUL to strengthen its leadership cadre with experienced professionals with the ability to steer growth and innovation in the competitive foods and refreshment business.
